Reclaiming Yourself Through Time: A Bridge from Burnout to Becoming
This past month, I’ve been paying closer attention to where my time goes—and more importantly, why. Over time I have learned to be intentional about my time but with lifes demands its sometimes easy for my attention to drift from it, falling into habits that don’t serve my well-bring. Being intentional isn’t just about staying productive or crossing off every task. It has become about alignment from my own intuition and not the worlds expectations. Intentionally choosing what deserves my energy, attention, and presence.
Somewhere in this process, I realized something simple but profound: Time management isn’t just about getting more done. It’s about getting closer to yourself.
When I paused to reflect, I noticed the quiet ways my time was slipping through cracks—into people-pleasing, into guilt, into habits that felt familiar but not fulfilling. I was doing things I didn’t really choose. Well, not choosing is choosing but I hope you know what I mean. And that clarity hit hard.
So I made space. I let things go. I said “not right now” without guilt. And in that space, I found something deeper than productivity: permission.
Permission to ask better questions.
Permission to slow down and listen inward.
Permission to stop performing and start aligning.
The Shift: From Time Management to Self-Discovery
As we move into May—Mental Health Awareness Month and a time for blooming into who we are becoming (hello spring! I have missed you)—I feel called to ask different questions. Questions that don’t have quick answers, but lead to honest transformation:
Who am I when I’m not trying to be who others expect?
What version of me am I ready to release?
What does power feel like in my body, my mind, my voice?
This is the beginning of something deeper.
This is the season of redefining.
And it starts with reclaiming all the pieces of ourselves we left behind in our calendars, obligations, and unspoken “shoulds.”
An Invitation for You
If you’ve been feeling disconnected, burnt out, or just a little “off,” you’re not alone. April was the time to notice. May is the time to remember.
Here are a few gentle invitations as we transition into this new season:
Use time as a mirror, not just a measure. What does your schedule reflect back to you?
Check your boundaries. Where are you over-giving, over-explaining, or over-accommodating?
Claim your confidence. What would it look like to live like your voice, your body, and your truth belong?
I don’t have all the answers, but I do know this:
You are not behind. You are not too much. You are not too late.
This month, I’m giving myself permission to discover who I am now—not who I was, not who I should be. Just who I am. And I hope you’ll join me in that journey.
Let’s grow, together.
